Another "Blame the A'Rabs" pic

Someone sent me this powerpoint on how the arabs are spending the money they made off of the gas hike. Sad thing is, American oil companies are the ones who profitted off of all the hikes.

What you fail to understand is the arabs haven't made anymore money off of the price hikes then they always did. Exxon, Mobile, Shell, Chevron, BP these are the people who made all the money.

Americans are so quick to blame foreigners for our own problems without looking at where the problem really is. Exxon and Chevron both had record profits during this price hike. The price for a barrel of crude only went up approximately $12.00. Remember there's an average of 42 gallons of gas to a barrel. That comes out to less the 30 cents per gallon.

The Saudi's obviously spend to an extreme. They also give every citizen of their country free school, free health care, public services that most Americans can only dream of. The royal family over there are a bunch of greedy bastages but so are the Executives at the major oil companies, and they just became greedier and what did Average Joe American do? They said, look how greedy the A'Rabs are. Geesh, these greedy oil companies didn't give even there own employees raises.

Come on. Don't fall for the propaganda out there. You want to insite an uprising, let's get on the oil companies for lobbying Washington to keep us stuck on dead dinosaur burning vehicles. There have been cars that can get 100+ miles to the gallon, and be perfomance vehicles at the same time.

Oh, and by the way. You know who supplies the largest amount of crude to the US? Our neighbors to the north.
Quote time:
"In 2004, Canada became the largest crude oil supplier to the U.S., ahead of Mexico, Saudi Arabia and Venezuela. Alberta accounted for three-quarters of that supply, or C$20.4 billion (US$17 billion) worth. Alberta alone has a 12 percent share of the US crude oil import market. "

Oh, BTW. They have a national health care plan as well.

I AM NOT Anti-American (I see this coming from the dolts in the crowd). I am Anti-Greed, and believe in blaming the proper parties.

God I love how quickly people are willing to blame the Middle East for our short comings.

Please forward this to any other liberal, progressive, Democratic or Green bloggers you know in Florida.

Announcing the formation of the

Sunshine State Progressive Blogger's Association
(the name is debatable at this point and I'm open to suggestions. I do want to use progressive, though, instead of Democrat -- to open it up to a broader community -- and prefer Progressive because I don't want to scare people off -- more explanation as to why that's important below)

I'm inviting all progressive, liberal, Democratic, Green other leftist bloggers in Florida to join this organization which will have the following goals:

1. Community -- Going back to a conversation Mustang Bobby and I had a while back, this organization would provide a social outlet for leftist bloggers around the state -- a way for us to meet each other and get to know people with similar interests and build a community. This could include meet-ups and conventions.

2. Web presence -- Establish a web site and blog to deal with Florida politics and political issues and would be open to contributions by all members.

3. Media presence -- The organization could be built into a legitimate presence in the Florida media landscape. As an official organization, we could push for press credentials and legitimate access to politicians, parties and interest groups in Florida. We would also focus on getting media coverage of our activities and projects in order to further the goals we are trying to accomplish.

4. The Florida Elections Project -- Establish an online clearinghouse for all information related to statewide and national elections for officials from Florida. Our project could keep an eye on districts and redistricting, liberal, moderate and conservative candidates, media coverage and analysis of various races and districts.

5. Candidate Forums -- As an established official organization, we could attract candidates to come and present their agenda to us in hopes of attracting blog coverage, potential fund-raising and the like. We could also partner with or work with like-minded organizations for a synergy effect, particularly with non-Democratic organizations and youth organizations and help provide a more progressive voice to the politicians of Florida.

6. Activism -- Provide a way for individual bloggers (and readers) to get more involved in important issues in Florida through the sharing of action alerts, news stories and analysis and by partnering with progressive interest groups and parties in Florida for an easier way to share information.

7. Whatever else we can think of, all with the overall goal of moving Florida politics and policies in a more progressive direction.

All of this is debatable, these are just the ideas I came up with off the top of my head or by brainstorming with the wife. Let me know what you think, if you're interested and if you'd be willing to help out, even if it is just in the idea stage. I'm serious about this and I'm going to make it happen, but I need your help and your ideas.

You can check out the earliest version of the website here: http://quinnell.us/sspb/wiki/. This web site is a wiki that any member can update and expand, while the other part of the site -- the blog -- will be up by sometime this weekend.

Let me know what you think.

Well Nored,
We don't really blame the Arabs. We just blame the others, who ever they might be: liberals republicrats executives, socialists. Common enemies tend to have a coalition building effect. The Saudii did have us over a barrel back in the seventies, and they continued to rake in profits from our use of petroleum. What is interesting is the way that one faction drumms up hatred for Saudii while another faction does bussiness with them.
The Iranian Revolution, Khaddafi, and Hussein all used the US as the outside enemy to unite against. This becomes easier when people can actually see helicoters troops and drone planes bombing villages.
Obviously the Oil based economy benefits from playing people off each other.
Muslim nations are for the most part poor, ruled by powerful elites, but they suffer from a sense of neglect and out rage that Christanized western nations see them as inferior, and exploit their natural resources.
The former Muslim empires ranged from Spain to Indonesia. Their economies were based on trade between Europe and Asia. particularly China.
I didnt see the pic you mentioned, but it does seem suspicious that pople are trying to stir up so much bigotry no matter who it's towards.
